WE ARE WILD CARE AND CONTROL

We specialize in the humane, non-lethal approach to removal of wildlife from your home or business. We cover the entire San Francisco Bay area. We specialize in solving problems with Raccoons, skunks, Bats, Foxes, Opossums and Squirrels.

Why we are Different:

Did you know that anyone who does ANY repair work on your home, and the repairs amount to $500 or more, MUST be a licensed contractor in the state of California? Yes, this is true.

This California consumer protection law, Business & Professions Code § 7031(a) was passed to prevent unlicensed contractors from doing work that should be performed by a contractor that is fully licensed.

This law applies to ALL companies, including those that do wildlife exclusion work.

The humane wildlife exclusion work done by Wild Care and Control has several components.

1) Diagnosing the problem – determining how the animal(s) got in.

2) Humane Eviction – getting animals out non-lethally and humanely, and ensuring mother and babies stay together.

3) Repairing and securing all entry points to prevent the animals from re-entering your home or business.

Not all of our exclusion jobs exceed $500, but some do – it all depends on the size of the entry point(s) and how much damage the home has. For those larger exclusion jobs that do exceed $500 in total costs, Wild Care and Control is fully compliant with California State law.

We are licensed contractors in the state of California, in addition to being fully licensed with California Dept. of Fish & Wildlife.

We know there are other companies in the SF Bay Area that do wildlife exclusion work, however not all are in compliance with California state law.

Raccoons

Removing Raccoons from your attic, crawlspace, Sheds etc, is a complex and dangerous process. Locating a Raccoon entry point is usually easier then many other attic invaders due to the size of the animal. Therefore the related problems never go unoticed. Being such a large and strong animal it allows them to do more damage in a shorter period of time. Raccoons also carry a lot of disease and parasites along with them that can be transmissible to humans.

Skunks

Although Skunks are more benefitial in our yards than we realize (they feed on harmfull pests) many homeowners prefer to be Skunk free because of their notorious odor and hability to dig under foundations and structures. To get rid of a Skunk is to implement an integrated control plan. One that employs methods of both, removal and deterrence. Wild Care and Control provides the assistance you need to safely and humanely remove the problem.

Squirrels

Down to a Chimney, attics and other unoccupied upstairs spaces are common places for Squirrels to take up residence, nest and have their babies. Often they chew holes on boards and sidings along the roofline for entry. Squirrels can be a fire hazard since the chew wires in the attic. We can inspect your attic for babies and safely and humanely remove the animals from you building causing the least stress to the homeowner and also to the animals.

Opossums

Opossums can transmit diseases like Leptospirosis, Coccidiosis, Tularemia, Tuberculosis and Toxoplasmosis when they bite or scratch. Contact with their feces and urine also put humans at risk for these diseases. As they are know to “play dead” to trick predators sometimes we can get tricked ourselves. On the other hand, they feed on tics and keep their environment clean from serveral other pests. Wild Care and Control is here to help.

Bats

Bats sare usually classified as a pest species due to their habits of living in house. The most common areas are cracks around chimney tower, attic spaces, cracks between sidings and roof gutter etc. Bats can squeeze themselves into very small cracks. Observe the areas around the building and look for droppings mice like. They usually defecate and the guano piles up underneath the access point. Bats can also carry many diseases and specially Rabies.

Dead Animal

If you are in need of a dead animal removal to be completed in a safe, timely and professional manner, you have landed on the right animal control company. Dead Animal Removal

Wild Care and Control will inspect to find and remove, if accessible, animals that have entered your home or yard and died. Normaly Crawlspaces and Attics are the most common places where this situation can occour. Clean up and Sanitize the area is very important, also detecting entry points around the building to prevent that other vistors can take up residence in your attic.

Detecting entry points

Raccoons and Opossums can get into the attic or crawlspace through a damaged vent or an open area of soffit. Worse yet, these critters are prone to creating their own holes to get inside. If a raccoon on your roof detects a weak spot, that animal will easily go to work making the tiny hole significantly larger.. Prevention is always better than eviction.

Animal Trap and Release

For those who are not familiar with the Animal Trapping Laws, Every state is different from each other and has different laws and regulations and that also applies to animal trapping laws. One astonishing fact about California is that relocating wildlife is illegal.
In this picture we trapped and released the animal after excluding the entry point on the roof leading to the attic space.

Eviction and Reunite

Very often we find animal families inside attics and crawlspaces. In order to keep families together, we developed a technique to remove the adult animals using one-way door setups. Once the adults are removed we find the nest, we collect the babies, we keep them warm and cozy in a reunite box so Mamma can come back and relocate the family to a diferent den.
